Practice double-entry accounting

Record transactions yourself, review each entry and prepare academic reports. The interface, account labels and explanations stay in English.

Step 1

Record transactions manually

Add accounts to the chart, then enter each transaction’s date, description, accounts, debits and credits. Descriptions may be written in English or Spanish; this page does not interpret them automatically.

Account catalog

Add the accounts for your exercise here. Journal lines can select only accounts in this catalog, using one of the five account types below.

Fictional MXN example: three balanced entries. Loading it replaces the current account catalog and journal.

Add accounts to the catalog before creating journal entries. Entries and reports stay in this page’s memory until you clear them or leave.

Editable manual journal entries. Complete each date, description, account and amount before confirming the journal.

Step 2

Set the reporting period

Choose the reporting dates and opening-balance status based on your exercise. Reports are calculated only after you confirm a valid journal.

Choose whether opening balances are included as journal entries, are not needed, or are missing. Missing required opening balances keep the balance sheet marked incomplete.
